Husband and wife team David and Liz Edmonds started the successful venture twelve months ago, launching the gallery on the 16 April 2016, which also happens to be the date of their wedding anniversary!
Since then the business has gone from strength to strength. Liz who is the creative force behind the business said, “There have been so many highlights in the past twelve months, the community support and feedback we have received have been amazing.”
Liz said that opening the gallery has exceeded all her expectations, “It has been lovely liaising with other artists, making the most of the creative energy, sharing knowledge and techniques,” she said.
Liz explained that their philosophy to complement the natural environment with the works offered at the gallery has created a space that is different from any other gallery.
Petrichor has proudly hosted three successful art exhibitions over the past year and another six to seven are planned for the rest of 2017. In addition the artist workshops offered at the gallery have also proven very popular, with the latest workshop attracting participants from Bunbury and Perth.
Running the gallery keeps Liz and David extremely busy; however Liz said that the experience has given her more confidence as an artist.
“The Gallery has influenced my work in that it has helped me consolidate my style and professionalism,” Liz said.
A new exhibition titled ‘Flourish’ by Kate Floyd will open at Petrichor Gallery on April 9. Polymer clay workshops will be held on Tuesday 18 from 9 am to 12 noon for children 10 16 years and and adult session will be offered on Wednesday 19 of April also from 9 am to 12 noon.
