Walpole CRC our Business of the Month

There is no doubt the Walpole CRC is a vital resource in the Walpole Community. The CRC serves as a community hub, learning and service centre and produces Walpole’s very own community paper the Walpole Weekly and the Business and Community Directory. The Centre is run by dedicated staff with the help of very hard working volunteers.

Walpole CRC is also responsible for some of the biggest events in Walpole. The 15MIN Wonders Conference, Av a G’day, activity programs for children over the school holidays and of course the very admirable Pink Ribbon Breakfast.

The Pink Ribbon Breakfast, which has become a significant event for Walpole will be held at the Community Hall this Saturday 21 October from 8am. The event aims to raise funds for life-changing breast cancer research. There will be a delicious breakfast on offer and of course the very popular ‘monster raffle.’ Operations Manager Linda Beard said: “This year you could win countless donated gifts including accommodation vouchers, new tyres and even a haircut!”

So why not wear something pink and show your support for this worthy cause.

Furthermore the Walpole CRC is currently seeking community support for the campaign ‘Strength in People, Strength in Place’. The Campaign hopes to raise awareness of the role of the Resource Centre Network in the rural communities. If you have visited the CRC or have benefited from any of the activities or services offered why not fill in a postcard in support of your Centre and ensure it remains open into the future.
